"In this battle between thoughts and reality called life, Art is my dove of peace."

Ishvar Krishnan is a contemporary Tamil performance poet and poetry filmmaker whose work delves into profound philosophical questions of death, thoughts, and existence. He began his journey as an apprentice video editor in 2012 while pursuing his Bachelors in Computer Science and Engineering. He then went on to edit an array of short films, music videos, documentaries and app-based edutainment content as a video editor till 2020.
His passion for Tamil language and performance got him to perform at poetry open-mics from 2015. The undertone of humor in his writing and the attitude of indifference in his stage persona eventually made him a well-known name in Chennai's open-mic scene.
He started to be featured in Poetry festivals and slams from 2017. The relatability of his poetry and his belief that poetry belongs to the masses got him commissioned to be the face of a public poetry performance campaign,
"#FindingIshvar", by Prakriti Foundation.
The onset of the pandemic and lockdown restrictions gave him space to reflect on himself and he took a break from creative work for the next two years. To step up his search of truth and meaning, he intensified his meditative practices and self-inquiry based on non-dual teachings. To account for his experience with meditation, self-inquiry and non-duality, he created a 30-verse poetry-zine titled "Anaithum Ramaname" in 2022.
Beyond the stage, Ishvar forayed into making poetryfilms blending his professional experience of the visual medium and passion for poetry. His films have been screened as part of Zebra Poetryfilm festival, International Video Poetry festival, StAnza Scotland's International Poetry Festival and more such poetryfilm festivals.
His observations of the world and his journey towards becoming one with oneness, are documented in
his podcasts, "Olarum Oruvan" and "Kaadhalai Nokki". To foster his love for humour he writes
short-plays reflecting his comical take on life.

"I always look forward to a day when silence is all I will have left.
Until then, all that wants to pass through, will, and if that is in you too, we resonate."
